Fantastic camera for the casual user.
I love the SD870 for all the features it packs in, but most of all I like it for its simplicity. The image stabilization feature is great, and so are the different camera modes. I can easily impress friends using the color accent mode which is my favorite. Pictures are clean and crisp. Most digital cameras I used previously had issues taking pictures in the dark. The SD870 does a great job even in the dark, though it does not eliminate red eye (there is an in-camera red-eye removal tool to handle that problem). The wide angle lens captures more in a frame than a regular digital camera would, and that's great when you are taking group pictures. Battery life is good. I also purchased a 2gb SD card so I wouldn't have to worry about how many pictures to store. When I bought the SD870, I was looking for a digital camera that was small enough to fit in my pocket, had good image stabilization, decent zoom and could take great pictures even in dark settings. The SD870 does all of these and some more. Overall, I would highly recommend the SD870 to anyone who is looking for a simple, reliable camera which can take great pictures.
